Confessions of a Real Bride: Rasha Suleiman
Palestinian bride, Rasha Suleiman, met her Bahraini groom, Saad Rabia, through work connections, and they also had many mutual friends in common.
Saad works as a Filmmaker, while Rasha works as a Social Media Specialist.
The couple got married in November 2015, at the Desert Palm, Dubai, UAE.
Rasha shared her wedding planning experience and wedding pictures with us, and here is what she had to say about her one of a kind wedding:
- What is the biggest advice you can give any bride-to-be?
Take the time to meet all the vendors and spend time to research and choose the exact style you want through tools like Pinterest.
For instance, we prepared a presentation that showed wedding planners the colors and the Arabesque style we wish to have.
We also shared with the DJ the songs we prefer through a Youtube playlist. This will minimize surprises!

Ensure that your wedding's theme represents your own interests and personality.
Wear the most comfortable shoes you can imagine.
Try to use your skills to the maximum. My husband, as a professional photographer hired his team and brought some of his expertise to the table.
In addition, I have designed the wedding invitation cards, some Arabic calligraphy and other print material myself.
- What was the theme or color scheme you picked for your wedding?
Lavender, peach, fuchsia, white, gold and dusty green.

- Do you recommend specific suppliers you worked with?
Everyone I have worked with was brilliant, proactive and with a really refined taste.

- What was the most difficult and stressful part of wedding planning?
Settling on a venue. Everything else was pretty easy after that, as a lot of the details like the style of the dress and theme of the wedding was already in my head.
My husband suggested an outdoor wedding, and I am so glad we went for it. However, it is hard to imagine how things will turn out on a green open field.
There are also not many really impressive outdoor venues with lots of trees - something I really wanted at the venue.
- Did you face any surprises?
After almost a year of planning, endless excel sheets, and with the help of our amazing vendors, not a single one, thank God.
