Kanye West has been released from hospital, but he is yet to return to his normal life.
The troubled rapper is reportedly living separately from wife Kim Kardashian, after being discharged from the UCLA Medical Center, where he received treatment after suffering a psychotic break.
“Kim is being very protective and doesn’t want Kanye around the kids right now,” an unnamed source told Us Weekly.
“Kanye’s behavior took a huge toll on their marriage,” another source told the publication. “But Kim feels relieved he is getting the help he needs. She thinks this is what it will take to save him — and help their marriage.”
Kardashian is reportedly “overwhelmed” by her husband’s illness, on top of her Paris robbery.
Dr Farzam told police that West had attempted to assault a gym staff member and he was placed in an involuntary psychiatric hold, known as a 5150, meaning he was handcuffed to the stretcher as he was taken to hospital, according to TMZ.
West’s admission to hospital came a day after his Saint Pablo tour was cancelled following a series of onstage outbursts, a month after Kardashian was tied up, threatened with a gun and robbed in Paris, with the traumatic ordeal reportedly haunting his dreams.
The stress of the pair’s never-ending $11 million house renovation project has also been cited as a potential contributor his mental health struggles.
