We previously published some tips on how to keep your skin glowing during Ramadan, Read : "4 Tips to Keep Your Skin Glowing This Ramadan"

Huda Beauty owner  shares some of her favorite and most tested beauty tips for the holy month of Ramadan.

Here is what she says: “While many people all over the world are fasting for Ramadan, keeping yourself hydrated and beautiful can be tough for this holy month!  Here are my top 5 tips for keeping yourself pretty while you fast.”

Huda Kattan’s Ramadan Beauty Tips:

  • While you break the fast in the evening, drink hydration fluids. Drinks like aloe vera juice and coconut water are great options that have natural sugars and are super hydrating!
  • Keep yourself moisturized! It’s important to make sure you carry around a great all-over moisturizer that you can use for your face and body during the day. Huda loves Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer and L’Occitane Hand Cream.
  • Lay off the complex carbs! During Ramadan, it’s normal to want to eat everything in sight, but try to lay off the complex carbohydrates like white pasta, too many starchy potatoes, too much rice, etc. When you eat carbohydrates like that late at night, your body will store them as fat! Stick to proteins, fruits, and vegetables!
  • Stay away from sugar! It’s quite common to have an irregular sweet tooth during Ramadan, but try to avoid eating too much sugar. Refined sugar, which is found in most sweets, is bad for you. Not only does it affect your immune system, but it also causes skin inflammation. Stay away at all costs!
  • Get enough sleep! It’s important to make sure you are sleeping at least 8 hours a day (I recommend 9) while you are fasting. Sleep is so important to your body, especially in times when you are not able to eat or drink regularly.
