We had the chance to ask Sarah a few questions for all brides-to-be, and here is what she had to say:
- Tell us more about your start…how you started your own company and what inspired you to be a wedding planner?
I’ve always wanted to be a wedding planner. Ever since I could remember, I’ve had a great passion for ceremony and celebration, from spending my days dressing Barbie dolls as little brides, to making wedding scrapbooks filled with little cutouts and pictures. The first wedding I planned was my cousin’s and that was when I was still in my senior year of college. As the guests congratulated me at the end of that wonderful evening, I knew that no matter how tired or worn out I was, nothing could beat the joy of turning people’s wishes and dreams into reality. From then on, my love flourished into a passion... and then came Lace.

- What is the best part of being a wedding planner?
Being able to turn a bride’s dream into a reality, and seeing it all come together.
- What do you anticipate the hottest trends in weddings to be in 2015?
Judging by fashion trends and latest fashion shows, I think brides will be more daring and willing to go for themes/colors schemes that are out of the box by either choosing unexpected venues and/or edgy themes.

- How does the wedding planning process start and what are the main elements of a successful relationship with the bride and groom-to-be?
It always starts with lots of talking and brainstorming, I hear everything the bride has to say about how she wants her wedding to be like, what she loves/hates so that I can get a better idea of her style and personality. It’s very important that the couple and the planner are transparent with one another, everything has to be clear from the beginning to avoid any miscommunication.
- What is the most favorite event your organized in 2014 and why? What elements did it include?
Very tough question because I develop a special bond with every event that I plan, each one has something that I love so much and am very proud of; but if I had to choose then I would say that the inaugural gala dinner I planned for [21,39] Jeddah Art exhibition is at the top of my list. I was given a huge urban space to work with and absolutely no restrictions in terms of style, design, or color scheme, so I was really able to challenge myself. I created installations hanging from the ceilings that were all made of chicken wire and little lights, I also didn’t use a single flower, but instead I custom made floral chair slips. Seeing it all come together was a dream come true for me.

- What is the most outrageous thing a couple has asked to have at their wedding?
I have to say I’m very lucky to have had no outrageous requests from a couple, ever since I started three and a half years ago!
