Confessions of a Real Bride: Huda Ayoub

Huda and Abdallah met the traditional way: And it was love at first sight! “He came to my family's house to see me for the first time and we fell in love in an instant. I couldn't imagine my life without him and neither could he.”

  • When was the wedding held and where?

Our wedding was held in Paradise Halls in Rabieh in Amman - Jordan on June 8, 2013.

  • Did you hire a wedding planner or planned the wedding yourself?

No, we didn't hire a wedding planner. I surfed the net for so many ideas and the best ideas were on Arabia Weddings.

  • What is the biggest advice you can give any bride-to-be?

I would tell them to live in the moment, the best time of your life should be from the beginning of your engagement till the wedding day, so live it to the maximum.

Do all the things you've ever dreamed of doing on your wedding day as they will only be done once in a lifetime. So, enjoy it and don't let anything ruin your special day.

  • What was the theme or color scheme you picked for your wedding?

Purple was the color scheme I chose, though it was summer and I had trouble finding purple flowers in June, but I pulled it off.

  • Do you recommend specific suppliers you worked with?

Sahar Al Najjar Salon, she did my hair and makeup and they were amazingly beautiful and elegant.

  • What was the most difficult and stressful part of wedding planning?

Finding “The dress” but it was a very enjoyable experience trying all those cute dresses on.

  • Did you face any surprises?

Well, I found out on my wedding day that the people who were supposed to do the rings pillow, just couldn't do it. So I came up with a very fast idea at the last moment. I let my nieces wait for us holding the rings in the middle of the dance area, the boy was wearing a black suite and the little girl was wearing a white dress. They gave them to us and then we exchanged our wedding bands, it was beautiful.

  • Do you consider yourself as a relaxed bride or more of a bridezilla?

I consider myself as the ultimate bridezilla! I gave headaches to everyone around me; I nagged a lot and wanted everything to be perfect.

  • Describe your wedding day and the planning process.

I did everything I ever dreamed of, we did a very special slow dance with moves we had trained on, I had a brides “tabkheera” with all the girls holding long candles dancing around me.My husband surprised me with a song for me on the microphone which was beautiful as he has the loveliest voice ever. He sang Wael Kfoury's song "Sa'aloony", and finally I did a father and daughter dance to "The Way You Look Tonight.” It was magical, and a moment to remember for the rest of my life.
