Confessions of a Real Bride: Parehan Tou

Parehan Tou and Ahmad Alasker met through a mutual friend in Amman, Jordan; they decided to go out for coffee and soon after they fell in love.

The couple got married on August 28, 2013 at the Green Field, an outdoor wedding venue, off the Airport road in Amman.

Here is what Parehan had to say about her wedding planning experience:

Did you hire a wedding planner or planned the wedding yourself?

We hired Emad Al-Rabadi, or Rabadi & Brothers (R&B), a wedding planner based in Amman; it was the best choice ever! They listened to our needs, gave us perfect deals and, most importantly, fully covered all the small details.

We got a huge help in coordinating so many other wedding details by my dear sister-in-law, Noor Alasker, I just can't thank her enough.

What is the biggest advice you can give any bride-to-be?

Pay attention to the details and hire a good wedding planner. He will make your life a lot easier.

Know what you exactly want and give the full image you have in your mind of your wedding to your wedding planner. If you don't do that they won't know what your dream of your own wedding is.

What was the theme or color scheme you picked for your wedding?

We chose white chairs, white couches and white and glass tables with colorful flower arrangements; mostly purple and fuchsia.

Do you recommend specific suppliers you worked with?

I recommend the following companies that we worked with:

R&B for chairs, lightening and tables.

Ali Karso: DJ mixer.

Berto Restaurant

What was the most difficult and stressful part of wedding planning?

Choosing the music to which we enter the wedding hall on was quite difficult, as the path from the entrance to the dance floor was very long.  We had to practice our entrance several times to find out when the end the song and start the next one.

Did you face any surprises?

No, not at all.

Do you consider yourself as a relaxed bride or more of a bridezilla?

On our wedding day I was so relaxed and just wanted to enjoy the wedding and dance with all our wedding guests who love us and came to celebrate our special day with us!

During the preparation and planning period, yes, I think I turned into a huge bridezilla.

Describe your wedding day and the planning process.

It was a huge transformation process, in less than 24 hours they turned the empty Green Field into a very classy purple wedding.

I remember entering the wedding and thinking “Oh my God, how beautiful it looks,” it was beyond my expectations! I repeat again (Rabadi & Brothers) are professionals.
