Confessions of a Real Bride: Salwa Kaoukji

Salwa and Fawzi met through their work and fell in love, they later got married on April 5, 2013, at Canvas Restaurant in Amman.

  • Did you hire a wedding planner or planned the wedding yourself?

No, we took care of everything ourselves.

  • What is the biggest advice you can give any bride-to-be?

Don't stress a lot about your big day, just let things go & believe that everything will fall into place… they always do.

  • What was the theme or color scheme you picked for your wedding?

We picked the Tiffany color scheme.
(Tiffany & Co. is one of the world’s most famous jewelry boutiques, known for their light blue colored logo, and packaging wrapped in white ribbons.)

  • Do you recommend specific suppliers you worked with?

Ramz Group for light & sound.

Heavenly Bites for the cake & giveaways who suggested that I have both in one, as the giveaways were beautiful Tiffany & Co. inspired cakes.

Tareq Musharbash Salon in Dabouq who made me look simple, yet perfect.

Shawish Productions who took the most beautiful natural pictures.

  • What was the most difficult and stressful part of wedding planning?

The wedding invitations and the distribution of the invitation cards were pretty difficult.

  • Did you face any surprises?

The catering at Canvas wasn't as promised; the new management did not meet our expectations.

  • Do you consider yourself as a relaxed bride or more of a bridezilla?

I was very relaxed & enjoyed everything about the wedding.

  • Describe your wedding day and the planning process.

I lost a lot of weight while planning for the wedding which was perfect except that I had to alter the wedding dress to fit me.

It was a bit cold on the wedding day; it rained in the morning which made it impossible to put lights in the garden of the restaurant.

The wedding was very cozy; we could see everyone and danced with everyone. No one stayed in their seats as they were all dancing with us. Basically we had the time of our life and enjoyed every bit of it.

  • Did Arabia Weddings help you in your wedding planning?

Reading about wedding themes and going through the list of suppliers. I was also looking for checklists but couldn’t find it as it is still not available.
