5 Dos and Don’ts When it Comes to Thank You Notes

We previously shared some ideas on Thank You notes to your guests. Read: “Wedding Etiquette: Thank You Notes for Your Guests”

Thank you notes can be sent to your wedding guests after the wedding, or simply just to the ones who got you wedding gifts.

Personal  thank-you letters are sent out of courtesy to your guests, it is a very thoughtful way to show your appreciation for those who attended your special day, sent you gifts, or even threw an event on your honor.

But before you start writing your thank yous there are some things you should know! Here are 5 dos and don’ts when it comes to your Thank You notes:

DO: Personalize your thank you notes, address each guest with their name and make your notes personal.

DO: Mention the gift, event, or just say how grateful you are that they attended your wedding.

DON’T: Post a general thank you on Facebook or your wedding website in lieu of personal notes.

DON’T: Mention that you plan to return or exchange a gift.

DON’T: Postpone it for too long, these notes should be sent once you come back from your honeymoon.
