In celebration of the brand’s 20th anniversary in 2016, Jimmy Choo unveils MEMENTO, a capsule collection of shoes and accessories that pay tribute to the brand’s iconic red carpet legacy. A pioneer in the art of celebrity dressing, Jimmy Choo has been a consistent presence on the red carpet for two decades escorting a multitude of leading ladies at the Oscars, Golden Globes, Bafta, and Grammys, as well as at other entrance-making moments of their lives.
“In celebration of our 20th anniversary, I have designed MEMENTO, a tribute to the entrance-making moments that have come to define Jimmy Choo style. The 20 shoes and bags comprising the capsule collection honor our legacy of high glamour looks – many of which have been played out over the years on the red carpet. MEMENTO:
The MEMENTO capsule collection incorporates 20 shoe and bag designs that embody Jimmy Choo’s inimitable style, glamour, and confidence. Included in the collection are original designs as well as some well-loved signature styles including LANCE and ANOUK which have been embellished and dressed up for the occasion. Lance, introduced in 2007, has logged more distance on the red carpet than any other shoe and has been worn by leading ladies from Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, and Diane Kruger to Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence.
As a modern statement to glamour, MEMENTO also introduces new timeless designs including TIZZY, the ultimate minimal sexy sandal with straps that wrap around the ankle; TETRUS, a gladiator-style that encages the foot and ROMY, the modernized stiletto that is sophisticated in its simplicity. As its jewel in the crown, MEMENTO unveils STORM - a T-bar stiletto bejeweled with hand-sewn Swarovski crystals and stones in a smoky color palette. STORM beguiles and mesmerizes with its three-dimensional facets and mercurial crystal chrome finish.
To complement the shoe designs, evening bags within MEMENTO are opulent and teeming with haute couture refinement. Jimmy Choo’s CLOUD clutch emerges as an objet d’art with its simple shape embellished with a sculpted flower corsage in flocked vermillion red whilst TUX is made over in crystal platinum chainmail fringing.
LIMITED EDITION ACCESSORIES TRUNK:
For a final celebratory nod to exceptional glamour, Jimmy Choo’s 20th anniversary also introduces a limited edition accessories trunk created specifically to house the MEMENTO collection. The hand-made trunk is meticulously crafted from pale taupe galuchat embossed leather and incorporates individual drawers, each lined in suede and finished with a brass card-holder to accommodate a design sketch from the collection. The lid of the trunk opens to reveal an inlaid mirror and a number of smaller accessories drawers.
The trunk, complete with all 20 designs from the MEMENTO collection, will be available from April 2016 via the Mall of Emirates boutique.
