After her future husband left her a few days before the wedding, by sending her a text message, and after "three days of crying", the 52 year old bride wanted to show the world she was a fighter so decided to go ahead with her wedding reception.
Rather than cancel the $8000 celebration she had paid for, Ms Burrow entertained 40 guests and with a lavish meal at a luxury hotel and even shared a night in the bridal suite with her daughter.
"My motto is everything happens for a reason," she said, "So I resurrected the reception and held it as a new beginnings party."
Instead of a bridal gown, former Army major Ms Burrow donned her regimental ‘mess kit’ of a long navy blue dress and scarlet jacket, complete with Iraq war medal.
The bride still doesn't know why her ex called off the wedding in such a cruel way.
"Some people think I should be like Miss Havisham in Great Expectations," she said. "But I’ve always been a glass half full person."
"I shared the bridal suite with my 21-year-old daughter Heather. You have to laugh really, don’t you? Life’s too short."
