A couple who proved they’re a perfect match in medical terms, when one gave the other a life-saving kidney, have got married after a public proposal on ITV's Good Morning Britain.
Bride Jade Crawford, from Yardley, Birmingham, married Ben Fowles on 8 August, 15 months after donating a kidney to her husband-to-be when he was diagnosed with organ failure.
“I’m still on cloud nine after everything we have been through on our journey,” said Jade.
“I was so excited on the morning of the wedding. “I wasn’t nervous until I arrived at the church, I had been waiting so long for this day.”
They married at St Nicholas’s Church, in Henley-in-Arden, in front of around 90 guests and celebrated with a 180-strong reception at Ardencote Manor.
The couple made headlines last year when Jade donated her kidney to her long-term partner after Ben was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.
The couple are now both in good health and there were no complications following the surgery.
On their wedding day, on August 8, they gave out Kidney Research charity pins to their guests.
