A Facebook campaign to reunite a missing wedding ring with its owner has gone viral.

Daniel Roark from Gloucester, Massachusetts, found the ring whilst scuba diving in Playa Reef, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

He posted a message on Facebook hoping to reunite the ring with the owner. The post has already has over 18,000 shares. Daniel says he believes it is a wedding band, because it is engraved with "JESSICA 16 02 13 TYYJCEM".

Daniel recently posted an update on Facebook saying that the owner has yet to be found: “I’m shocked at how much support the search for the wedding band owner has received!"

"Sadly the owner has not been found yet, but my hope for humanity was certainly restored! Always remember, even in this crazy world, there are a lot of kind people."

If you know a couple who got married on February 16th, 2013, and lost a wedding band (likely while diving) near Playa Del Carmen Mexico, email Daniel at thelostweddingband@yahoo.com.
