A planned wedding on December 20 at Victory Outreach Church in Lira town was ruined after the bridegroom went missing three days before the wedding day.
Moses Ogwal, the son of Pastor Johnson Ogema of Victory Outreach Ministries, was due to wed Caroline Kia, the daughter of Mzee Tom Angol of Nambieso, Apac district.
Ogwal, the administrator of Alpha Resort Hotel, reportedly disappeared on December 17, from where he was being mentored and prepared for the marriage.
After his disappearance, Ogwal’s father aired radio announcements calling off the wedding, saying it had been postponed to a later date that would be communicated.
"Come out of hiding", The groom-to-be’s intended bestman, Denis Odwar, posted on his Facebook account timeline begging him to reconsider his decision, or he would regret the consequences.
"Moses, I know you are alive wherever you are. Please don’t allow the devil to use you to bring shame to you and the family. Please come out from the hiding and proceed with your wedding," he wrote.
The message read further: "You will regret and be tormented for the rest of your life if you don’t take a sound decision by the end of today because your wedding will be called off."
Odwar stated that Ogwal will bring shame to his family who have served the Lord diligently in their entire life.
Kia, the stranded bride, declined to discuss the matter with New Vision when contacted on phone. “
"No, no, no, please leave me for now," she said.Ogwal could not be reached for a direct comment as his known phone number was off, as was Odwar’s.
Similarly, Pastor Ogema did not pick New Vision’s call.A friend to the bride-to-be said she was still hopeful about the marriage and said her fiancé (Ogwal) was being misled by demons.
