Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt ended their marriage in 2005, but nearly a decade on people are still obsessed with Hollywood's former golden couple, especially as the actor took-up with now wife Angelina Jolie. Speaking in a new interview though, the actress insisted "nobody did anything wrong."
Since the split there's barely been a month when a story about the former couple and their supposed love triangle wasn't in the news and only last week there was a lot of coverage of the fact both Jennifer and Angelina attended the Critics Choice Awards, only the second time they've done so since Angelina Jolie got together with Brad Pitt.
It seems though Jennifer, who is now engaged to boyfriend of two years Justin Theroux, thinks it's about time the stories stopped.
Predominately painted as the victim in the triangle she said it was time for the rumors to stop.
"We’re not in daily communication," she told The Hollywood Reporter of her relationship with Brad, "But we wish nothing but wonderful things for each other."
Referring to the split she went on: "Nobody did anything wrong. You know what I mean? It was just like, sometimes things happen. If the world only could just stop with the stupid, soap-opera. There’s no story."
Jennifer Aniston and Brad announced they were separating in January 2005 just months after Brad had filmed Mr and Mrs Smith with Jolie. The couple have always denied there was any infidelity, but previously Angelina has hinted that it was where they first connected emotionally. The actor was pictured on holiday with Angelina and her son Maddox only a few months after officially splitting from Jennifer and they've been together even since.
Admitting that she is starting to feel sorry for the way Angelina and Brad have been painted she added: "I mean, at this point it’s starting to become, please, give more credit to these human beings."
Jennifer Aniston isn't in any hurry to get down the aisle admitting they she and Justin hadn't even set a date yet, she added: "I wouldn’t tell you if we did.” Going on to reveal what drew her to the actor in the first place she said: "It was his humour, mainly. He’s the easiest guy to hang around. He was so completely in his skin. It was the first time I remember being so comfortable with a romantic interest."
