Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will obtain a marriage license and have a civil ceremony in the United States before they have a lavish ceremony in France.
"They will have a civil ceremony to acquire their marriage license here," a source tells E! News.
Recent reports claim that the couple's wedding plans have "come to a halt," however, a source told E! news that the rumor is "completely false."
Radar Online first reported that the lovebird's marriage plan is in "crisis," due to fact that French law requires a 40-day residency prior to any wedding.
According to the French Embassy, "All marriages must be performed by a French civil authority before any religious ceremony takes place. The mayor can authorize the deputy mayor or a city councilor to perform the ceremony in the town in which one of the parties to be married has resided for at least 40 days preceding the marriage. These requirements can not be waived."
But considering the couple will already be husband and wife when they arrive in France, it looks like the ceremony is going to be smooth sailing.
