A Kuwaiti woman has reportedly won a court case against her father who had repeatedly refused to allow her to marry a Jordanian man.
The 27-year-old woman’s lawyer told a court the Jordanian man was working as the manager of a well-known hotel in Kuwait when they met, Kuwait Times reported.
He asked her father several times for permission to marry her but was repeatedly turned down.
He had since moved back to Jordan but remained in contact with her and was granted a visa to return to Kuwait for the court case.
A judge ruled the woman was allowed to marry her partner despite her father’s disapproval.
