A Kuwaiti groom spends his wedding night in prison after his relatives and friends beat up a neighbor!
The guests were firing in the air, as used to in traditional weddings, in most Arab countries, when a neighbor complained about the noise and told them they were breaking the law that banned celebrating under fire.
But the relatives and friends were insulted so they attacked the neighbor, who had to be treated at the hospital, where he complained to the police.
When the officers went to the wedding party, the attackers ran away, which left the head of security compelled to arrest the groom who was asked to reveal the identities of the attackers
Online reactions varied from criticizing the police chief for "taking the groom as a hostage for something he did not do" to praising him for "taking a bold action to help curb the phenomenon of firing in the air to show off joy."
