Modelicious Management celebrated its fifth year anniversary by taking a pioneer step in the fashion industry in Jordan. Eager to offer Jordan and the region a glimpse on international fashion trends, Jordan's leading modeling agency; Modelicious Management launched Jordan's first season of the internationally acclaimed Mercedes. Benz Fashion Week.
The first season concluded with great success as the company set plans to make this a bi-annual event and showcasing the S/S 2013 collection in the upcoming November.
This season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amman featured fourteen runway designers; three of which are internationally recognized and eleven are locally established and emerging designers thriving for international success.
Razan Masri – CEO of Modelicious Management & founder of the event said, “our local designers are from the existing Jordanian talent and deserve regional and international recognition. This event is very important and can impact Jordan's tourism and future economic status around the world.”
Most local designers' collections focused on chic eveningwear, including Tatyana Aceeva, Raya Bisharat, Shatha Dabbas, Zainab Kisswani whose small selection of bridal dresses stood out. Nut & Ptah, two emerging Jordanian designers, designed a DHL inspired dress in addition to their collection, after being sponsored by the long-standing partner in the fashion industry.
Dina Maqdah and Basma Omar chose to go with a more casual chic line, while other designers focused on trendy yet traditional styles, including Hana Sadeq, Hama Hinnawi and Lina Lama Burgan. Out of all the designers, ZAY differed as the only men’s clothing line, ranging from casual to formal wear. Among the local talent, eight fashion exhibitors showcased their talent at the location, including: Farah Asmar; “Rose ‘N Rose” Petra Orfali, Elham & Issa; “J walking in style” Jiyan & Deema Al-Alami; “Project AR” Abeer Khoury & Raya Bisharat.
