Boy band One Direction performed at the Investors Group Field on Friday in Winnipeg, but they also played a hilariously special role in one 29-year-old Winnipeg woman's bachelorette party.
The hugely popular English-Irish pop troop was in town on July 24 as part of its "On The Road Again Tour 2015."
The tour date announcement came months in advance, though, giving Lori Darragh's friends ample time to plan something extra special for the bride-to-be.
Darragh's ceremonial send-off started off like any bachelorette party. The group donned a bunch of brightly beaded necklaces and tiaras, with Darragh sporting a wedding veil and garter.
The group of adult women then bused to the concert, pun-filled One Direction-themed signs in hand, and got comfortable in their front row seats.
Once the music got going, Darragh took the next obvious step of removing her bridal garter and tossing it at singer Harry Styles.
The internationally drooled-over unofficial frontman picked up the lacy lingerie and slid it up his leg.
"Very exciting. And then he later took it off and gave it back to me, so suffice it to say it made my night," Darragh said.
"He didn't say anything when he put it on but he, like, congratulated me earlier in the night. And when they were leaving he looked down on me and was like, 'Well, have a good wedding.' So that was really sweet."
