Nell, daughter of banker Bob Diamond, was simply delighted to show off her extravagant wedding dress.
Made out of an astonishing 35 metres of silk and featuring a sweetheart neckline, the Olivier Theyskens design swept behind her for yards as her father walked her up the aisle.
The multi-millionaire banker, who quit Barclays in 2012 in the middle of a rate-rigging storm, has clearly not fallen on hard times since he was forced to step down as the bank’s chief executive.
His 25-year-old wore two different dresses at the lavish ceremony, the first of which was a princess-worthy gown with an enormous train designed by Olivier Theyskens, who recently left his post as artistic director of the fashion house Theory.
According to The Knot, it is believed that Nell only paid for the materials and labor without the actual design mark-up. As such, the custom-made gown is likely worth between $250,000 and $300,000.
The wedding took place on the weekend at the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France. And he made sure his precious little darling was treated like a princess all day, with no expense spared. He even hired the wedding planners behind William and Kate’s Buckingham Palace reception in 2011.
