Tunis: New Taxes On Marriage
Mon 07-07-2014

The draft of the Complementary Finance Law for the 2014 financial year now requires couples who are getting married in the second half of 2014, to pay 30 dinars ($18), the amount of stamp duty imposed on marriage contracts.

This measure should allow the state to gain a million dinars.

The government stated that the aim of this project is to restore the balance of public finances, which is facing a severe shortage of money and finding additional resources to cover the deficit of the state budget.
