Underwater Wedding in Bangkok
Wed 13-11-2013

In Bangkok, Thailand, a bride and groom had to say “I do” with sign language, the master of ceremony held up the vows on a signboard, and the witnesses were exotic fish and mermaids, but Christopher and Janet surfaced from the reef as man and wife, and headed back to the resort for the traditional grand wedding celebration.

They were the first couple to marry underwater at Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives, under a special program designed by the 5 star resort.

On the day of the wedding, Christopher and Janet along with their guests, members of Best Dive, staff members from the resort, and master of ceremony Ibrahim Shaan, set out by catamaran to the edge of the reef that surrounds the resort.

Once the ceremony was completed, the newly-weds and their guests headed back onto dry land where they were taken by suitably decorated wedding buggy to their luxurious villa, where they cut the wedding cake and toasted their future with champagne.
