As 2011 has come to an end, it is now time to welcome 2012 with a big fashion bang! We are keeping you updated with the latest international bridal fashion trends of 2012!
As we all know, white is and always will be the traditional wedding dress color. But this year, picking a more blush or palette tone for your dress is the fashionable thing to do. We are not talking about ivory or crème colors, but tones such as pink and lavender to give a pop of color to your dress. Even more daring, famous American-Chinese designer, Vera Wang, showed a variety of bold nude gowns along with nine black tulle-laden creations in her 2012 bridal fashion shows. Yes, black!
It's all about volume this year! Ruffles of lace and organza are very in. "The two tiered skirt" is also trending enormously! Many designers are creating their wedding dresses with a two-tier skirt. This flatters every figure especially if you have fuller hips.
One of the 2012 bridal fashion trends is to add a beaded belt: crystal, pearls, stones, you choose! Some designers are also using belts to add a pop of color to the traditional white dress.
It's All About the Lace:
Lace sleeves were everywhere on NY Bridal Week runways! Designers are all inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton's wedding dress by Alexander McQueen. Lace is always romantic and elegant to wear, plus it adds a vintage touch to your wedding dress. Another beautiful dress that caught the tabloids and designers' attention was Bella Swan's Herrera-designed wedding dress in the Twilight Saga "Breaking Dawn" played by Kristen Stewart
Go for the Illusion:
Showing off much skin in your wedding dress is no longer the case in 2012! Sheer necklines is the in thing. Monique Lhuillier's collection has layered fabrics over the neckline. This was very popular at the fall 2012 Bridal Fashion Week in New York. Having your neckline covered by a sheer skin-baring fabric is a great way to show off some skin but still look elegant and feminine.
Look great from front and back with this new trend of plunging backlines. Or even better, have an illusion backline instead of the neckline. Use lace or any other sheer fabric to cover your back.
We hope these trends will help you stay updated on the latest fashion! And remember, for an elegant and fashionable look, choose what fits you most from these trends. Don’t use them all at once, and most importantly don’t overdo it!
