Indulge in Dried Fruits this Ramadan

Indulge in Dried Fruits this Ramadan

During the Holy month of Ramadan, dates and dried fruits are usually served at Iftar and throughout the night.

We have previously shared some health and beauty benefits of dates.

But what about dried fruits? Did you know how great they are for your health?

Here is what you need to know:

Dried fruits are a tasty and healthy alternative to sugary desserts during Ramadan and all year long.

But keep in mind that not all dried fruits have the same benefits; some fruits have additional sugar added to them so they become more like candy and not as healthy as other dried fruits.

Here are some dried fruits that are less healthy and have more sugar added to them: Pineapple, watermelon, bananas and cranberries.

But some of the really healthy and less sugary dried fruits are: mangos, apples, apricots, figs, papayas, cherries, raisins and plum.

  • Note: Always check the ingredient list for extra sugar or additives.
