Marchesa Designers Give 6 Tips for Brides-to-Be
Town & Country had the chance to meet with Marchesa designers, Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman, who shared their most important wedding tips.
Here is the best advice they had for brides-to-be:
1. Bring your phone.
"When you are going to try on dresses, bring an iPhone”, says Georgina. “One client had videos taken of her in every dress to see how it fit and what it looked like when she was walking around or sitting down. You should get an image of the dress from every angle" advises Georgina.
2. Go classic.
"Go for a timeless and classic design. We don't follow trends because you will be looking at photos of the dress for the next 40 or 50 years. You want to wear something that will look good in the future," says Keren.
3. Be open-minded.
"Try on a style you didn't think you wanted - one bride wanted to wear something simple but she tried on a princess dress and realized she loved it", recommends Georgina.
4. When it comes to the veil...
Keren advises brides to wear a veil, she says "you should also try on a veil. I didn't wear one when I got married and now I regret it."
5. Your footwear.
Always keep a more comfortable pair of shoes if you get tired of your formal high heels.
"Buy two pairs of shoes. One for the ceremony and one for after when you want to have fun." –Georgina
6. At the end of the day, ENJOY IT!
"Remember to enjoy your wedding. So many people have told me that the entire event went by in a blur and they don't remember much. Try to take a step back and enjoy the day" advises Keren
