Confessions of a Real Bride: Dina Foudeh

Dina Foudeh and Hussein Chaaban met by chance in a friend’s engagement party in Dubai. Who would have guessed this couple was next in line?

The magical wedding was held in the wonderful ballroom at the Marquis Marriot Hotel in Dubai.

Accompany us to revive these charming moments through this extraordinary photo-shoot by Blue Eye Pictures

  • How did you and your spouse meet?

I went to my friend’s engagement party in Dubai. Hussein saw me and asked my cousin to introduce us. And that’s how our story started.,

  • When was the wedding held and where?

Our wedding was held on the 11th of April 2014 when the weather was perfect in Dubai.

We chose to get married at the JW Marriot Marquis Hotel because we both loved its ballroom.

It was for sure the most beautiful ballroom I have ever seen.

  • What is the biggest advice you can give any bride-to-be?

I would like to tell every bride-to-be not to stress so much. I know it’s hard to do that, but at the end of the day it’s all about living in the moment; especially, during this day, time goes by so fast. So enjoy your wedding day to the maximum and have fun.

  • What about an advice for the groom?

For the groom the best advice that I can give is to agree with everything and avoid making any trouble!

  • What should every bride know when planning for her wedding?

It’s a difficult journey, especially here in Dubai. The variety of options is very wide, and as a bride you can get confused with all those options.  It can get very complicated, so it’s important to focus on what you really want and not what other people think.

  • What was the theme or color scheme you picked for your wedding?

I wanted an all white wedding and I added just a touch of silver. I wanted to create a peaceful and magical atmosphere. Our wedding was decorated with white orchids and candles, it looked so beautiful. We also had our name logos on a big screen.

  • Do you recommend specific suppliers you worked with?

Everything was perfect, especially the photography.

We were lucky to work with great photographers. Also our wedding video looked amazing and professional. I was more than happy with the result and with the Blue Eye Pictures team.

  • Who designed your dress?

My dress was costume made by a great designer in Al Sharjah, UAE. I liked to be part of the dress-making process and picked the fabric and design myself.

Rola Baghadadi did my makeup and I was very happy with the results.

The whole experience was so nice; I wish I could go back in time and live it again.

  • What was the most difficult and stressful part of wedding planning?

Picking the right wedding planner, there is such a wide variety and everyone has so many ideas, so choosing the right wedding planner was very hard for me because they all have similar ideas; as a bride you never know who is really going to be the best for you.

  • Did you face any surprises?

Oh yes, the sofa at the Kosha where my husband and I were supposed to sit in was way too small, we didn’t fit in it properly. So in the last minute we needed to get a new sofa. Luckily, my brother came to the rescue; he took care of the situation and got us a new sofa.
