Dina and Omar Rashwan fell in love at first sight! “Omar decided to pay my step-brother a visit at our home in Amman, Jordan. They were friends from graduate school. That was the day me and Omar first laid our eyes on each other” Dina admits.
She added “a few months later my step-brother decided it was a good idea to introduce me to Omar to see if we would match. Little did he know, that we secretly have been wanting to talk to each other ever since that first day he came over to my house!”
Here is what Dina had to say about her wedding planning experience:
Our magical wedding was held at The King Hussein Club in Amman, Jordan on August 4, 2014.
I had originally wanted to plan the wedding myself, but I quickly realized it is a huge (and costly) task to take on, especially with your fiancé living abroad.
So we hired Massaya Wedding Planner. From that moment on, life got MUCH easier. . .
The most important thing to remember when planning your wedding is to communicate all your wants and desires, no matter how ridiculous they sound.
Even if you are 99.9% sure there is no way you can make an epic entrance with your groom on a jet plane to your wedding venue, don't be shy to express that.
It is possible to have the wedding of your dreams as long as you communicate what you want with your spouse and your wedding planner and as long as you are willing to make slight compromises, then the rest (like budget and more) can be figured out.
Also, don't let the stress of wedding planning and silly family drama put a dent on you and your husband-to-be's relationship. Just relax! This is the best time of your lives and you must enjoy it and brush all the negativity off your shoulders.
Our theme was a royal "prince meets princess" wedding. We chose shades of pink and off-white flowers to adorn the venue.

Our wedding planner was amazing! It is really important to work with suppliers that are not too pushy and are straight forward with you. Massaya Wedding Planner suggested some neat ideas and was also reasonable with the prices.
Also, Alyasseer Wedding Photography is a great supplier who was also very pleasant to work with, and the quality of his work is unreal! It was important for me and my fiancé to have a photographer who wasn't very cliché and had a more modern approach. Ahmad Alyasseer was just that and more!
But for entertainment, OSCAR Dance Group really takes the cake! I have to say, they really made the party.
Assigning seats was definitely one of the most stressful parts of the wedding planning. Because we were inviting so many people, we thought it would be much more organized to have assigned seats. My father, cousin, Omar, and I would stay up until 4:00 in the morning some nights just to work on it. It was really a handful!
After all the trouble we went through assigning seats, once we arrived at the venue, we realized we forgot to bring the list! Luckily, I had e-mailed the list to my dad, so he was able to open it from the venue and print out a few copies.
I must admit, it can be stressful planning a wedding while your fiancé and family are away. There are times I had complete meltdowns and there are times I kept my composure. But overall, I guess I was ok.
"Assigning seats was definitely one of the most stressful parts of the wedding planning..."
My wedding turned out to be everything I dreamed of and more. The venue was decorated so nicely. The setting and scene was just as I imagined it to be. The service was organized and classy. Food was tasty. And most importantly, EVERYONE had a blast!
Totally! I was inspired by the real weddings articles posted on Arabia Weddings. My fiancé and I also researched a ton of vendors and suppliers listed on Arabia Weddings. And now, it is my duty to share my experience with all the other curious brides-to-be.
