Our Exclusive Interview with Fashion Designer Ines Di Santo

International fashion designer Ines Di Santo creates masterpieces of sophistication and glamour. Ines Di Santo's designs are all about bringing out the feminine side of every woman.

Ines Di Santo was raised in Buenos Aires, and was always interested in art, she studied both fine art and design in Argentina and Milan.

We had the chance to ask Ines Di Santo a few questions on some bridal fashion tips and the latest bridal fashion trends:

What are your favorite bridal fashion trends for 2019?

A few of my favorite bridal trends for 2019 include dramatic sleeves, off-the-shoulder styles, luxury corsetry, minimalism and hand painted designs.

What inspired your latest accessory/jewelry collection?

The line was inspired by a visit to the MET where I was captivated by a bronze caged bird sculpture in the Heavenly Bodies exhibit. At the time she was in the process of working on my Fall 2019 collection - A Modern Fairytale.  The team set out to find a partner that could bring the ideas and designs to life.

They found that partner in Ciner, a 125-year-old New York City family business known for its beautiful work and attention to detail. Together, they set out to tell a new tale- one where birds are free of their cages and stories are created from surprises layered into the pieces.

Inspired by the iconic Norse fairy tale “EAST OF THE SUN; WEST OF THE MOON,” the magical collection was designed for brides and beyond - jewels for brides on their wedding day and jewels that can be worn time and time again long afterwards, lending that unexpected touch to even the simplest outfits.

The handmade jewelry is intricately executed in 18k gold plate and rhodium featuring ornate birdcages, sculptural flower petals, feathers, bows and bird motifs and detailed with pavé stones, antique glass flower petals, illuminating rhinestone and pearlized enamel accents. All creations are executed an a range of exquisite rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and egg-shaped minaudières (just big enough for a tube of lipstick).

Pops of color dance across the collection in beautiful shades of rosy reds, pink champagnes, soft lavenders, light dusty greens and soft blues. The colors are intended to echo the colors in the sky.

Created in partnership with CINER, a 125-year-old New York family business known for its attention to detail and handcrafted designs, the jewelry has resulted in conversation pieces that help tell a modern fairytale befitting of the Ines Di Santo woman. Pieces within the collection range in price from $120 to $2,550 and are available made-to-order on www.inesdisanto.com.

What was the most luxurious wedding dress you have ever designed?

The last two seasons I have created a Jewel Box Collection which has allowed me to approach bridal at a couture level.

Each dress is a precious creation that would make any bride feel like royalty, all with a modernly romantic twist.

What is your best fashion advice for brides to be on their wedding day?

A wedding is a party to celebrate what's really the larger and more important event—the marriage. This puts small things into perspective. Little irritations like your veil being stepped on by your nephew, or a sugar flower that didn't hold up in the heat, should fall away when you get to the heart of the reason why everyone is gathered.
