Inside The Dance With XO Engagement Party By My Event Design

Maryam Bisharat and Ibrahim Salloum celebrated their engagement party in a unique and magical night.

The couple chose to have their engagement held at the tennis court of a private residence in Amman, Jordan and chose the amazing team of My Event Design to plan their special night.

For this amazing engagement party, the talented team of Majeda Bisharat constructed a temporary structure was made of clear Lexan, which are polycarbonate sheets, to reflect the lighting.

Majeda Bisharat of My Event Design shared all the details of this special engagement party with Arabia Weddings.

  • What was the theme behind the Engagement décor?

The “Dance with XO” engagement party was all about fun, love, and joy. It was a young, bold, beautiful and dramatic event. The colors used for this event were all the shades of pink.

  • What was the inspiration behind the Engagement décor?

We were inspired by the bride-to-be’s Dolce and Gabbanna dress from the ‘Viva la Mamma’ collection. Her fun and unique dress was a billowy white silk creation, printed with naïve scribbled Crayola drawings!

  • What was the most special and unique detail at the engagement?

This engagement was very special on so many levels, here is why:

The Entrance

The entrance to the engagement was magical!

To create a fun feel, we installed a 30 meter pathway that was overwhelmed with mirrors along with candles and real 2d round shape real fuchsia Mokara trees displayed on both sides.

The sides were adorned with thousands of lit candles. Small chandeliers were hung throughout pathway.

To add some contrast, the flooring of the entrance was in black and white diamond shaped pattern.

What was also very special about this entrance was the fact that the customized rustic white, with gold and fuchsia dessert buffet was displayed in the 16 meters pathway which filled with high black vases and pink stargazer flower that touched the crystal candelabras which were hung from the ceiling.

Different cake sizes; mini and large edible cakes some of which were covered with candy floss, and cake toppers which said ‘Love’, ‘bride to-be’ ‘Just Hitched etc… Macaroons, rice crispy sticks, and doughnuts to resemble a ring to the dessert buffet were also added to the dessert menu.

The Ballroom

The set and scenery design of the ballroom included a large backdrop on one of the sides, which was a print of the bride-to-be’s Dolce and Gabbanna dress.

The other sides were left empty in order to portray the polycarbonate lexan material which was emphasised by the lighting effect that was used.

To add a touch of romance, we suspended beautiful chandeliers in a row, allowing for the mirror to reflect the light provided.

Screens with still and moving images behind the band stage added to the fun atmosphere, and also added some light to the room.

The dance floor was covered with an XO design pattern with a red heart in between.

It was accented with twinkles of light leading you down to the bar area.

At the end of the dance floor, two bars made out of mirrored strips were set up to wrap the stage from both sides.

The set-up allowed guests to enjoy their drink while getting an up-close look of the performers of the night.

Flower arrangements, which included fuchsia orchids, were hung from the chandelier and embraced the dance floor. The wooden white floor reflected the ceiling along with the hanging chandelier and flowers.

The area surrounding the dance floor was filled with rectangular tables, decorated in a way that matched the look and feel of the Dance with Xo fun theme.

Long dining mirror tables reflected the dangling crystal chandelier that hung from the ceiling. Some of which were dressed in fuchsia orchids to add a touch of fun to the atmosphere.

Low and long dining tables were decorated with low floral arrangements and floating crystal chandeliers were installed above those tables.

The high dining tables were placed in the outer layout of the floor plan, which embraced the entire floor plan – they were decorated with high salix branches full of fuchsia Mokara and fuchsia Vanda orchids. In between the high vases, fuchsia cyclamen were displayed. Few round tables were decorated with orchid phalaenopsis, waxed flower and crunch roses.

Two images were displayed on every other plate; a heart shape and an illustration of the fiancé and fiancée faces. A bloom of phalaenopsis was also placed on every plate, with white napkins being beautifully placed under each plate.
