The province of Hail (Ha'il) is located in the north of Saudi Arabia. It is situated between Mount Shammar on the north and Mount Salma on the south and is on one of the main pilgrimage routes from Iraq to Mecca.
Ha'il is the capital and largest city of Ha'il Region, with a population of over 600,000. It has a hot desert climate with hot summers and cool winters.
