Experiential Planner Expo (EPEX 2022) Kicks Off in Dubai

Experiential Planner Expo- EPEX, in partnership with Dubai’s Department of Economy & Tourism (DET), successfully took place in a 3-day B2B meeting format and networking extravaganza across 7 hotels and venues in Dubai including the newest landmark, Museum of The Future.

The event kicked off on September 21 and carried on until 23 September at the 25 Hours Hotel One Central, complementing the show’s progressive and relaxed environment that stakeholders found optimal for conducting business and exchanging industry insights.

EPEX 2022 saw a tremendous appetite of buyers from source markets including India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, the UAE and others, leveraging Dubai’s position as a truly global hub. The Show conducted leadership sessions featuring leading tourism board representatives and hospitality brands discussing invigorating topics such as "Positive Tourism" and "Sustainability Trends".

EPEX successfully closed an important gap in positioning the Middle East in the calendar of international business events.

One of the show’s highlights was the gala event, hosted by Emaar Hospitality, launching "Weddings by Emaar" an aspirational club for stakeholders of the UAE wedding industry. In attendance at the extravagant event was Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer, Strategic Alliances & Partnerships Sector, DET and a firm endorser of the initiative by a home-grown brand with global ambitions to position Dubai as a "non-cookiecutter" wedding destination.

"We are excited at the prospect of creating meaningful connections for our stakeholders and pay meticulous attention to the needs of each individual EPEX exhibitor and their specific objectives. We are also strong advocates of having pre-qualified decision-making level buyers attend EPEX and form part of an insightful community that stakeholders can tap into relevant expertise and trends. We thank the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism’s collaboration for their unreserved support of EPEX’s vision of being the most relevant MICE & Wedding show in the region," stated Ibrahim Bashir, Show Director of EPEX.

The next edition, scheduled for September 2023, is already seeing strong commitment from European destinations endorsing the strong potential of MEA+India as source markets.
