Planned and designed by BAQAA Glamour Weddings & Events, this was the first destination wedding at Saadiyat Rotana Abu Dhabi, and one that united three faiths in one remarkable setting. From the Nikah to the Hindu wedding, every moment reflected not only tradition, but the extraordinary bond between two families and two souls.
The Welcome Lunch and Haldi
The welcome lunch was designed as an ode to Ruhi and Kartik’s free-spirited nature, two wildflowers growing boldly in a world that often leans toward conformity. BAQAA transformed the space at Saadiyat Rotana into a whimsical wildflower meadow, bringing Ruhi’s vision to life with vibrant blooms, organic textures, and an atmosphere that felt both liberated and deeply personal. Every element was thoughtfully chosen: the venue selection, the afternoon’s flow, and the immersive garden aesthetic that captured the couple’s individuality and the essence of their love story. Guests walked into a setting bursting with color, joy, and authenticity, perfectly setting the tone for the celebrations ahead.
For the Phoolon ki Haldi, Rachna Chadha added her ethereal signature touches, elevating BAQAA’s creative direction with dreamy details and artistic finesse. The haldi ceremony unfolded like a scene from a fairytale, bright marigolds, soft petals, and symbolic traditions merging in a space filled with laughter and emotion. The couple’s wildflower theme continued beautifully, framing the ceremony in unstructured natural beauty that felt both soulful and spirited. It was a vibrant beginning to a three-faith wedding that celebrated not only Ruhi and Kartik’s union, but their courage to love, live, and grow freely in their own way.
The Sangeet
Ruhi and Kartik’s sangeet was a balmy, blissful evening that radiated warmth, tranquillity, and the pure joy of love. The celebration unfolded in a lush garden setting that perfectly captured the couple’s serene and inviting theme. Under swaying palm trees and an open sky, the night carried a celestial charm—enhanced by soft ambient lighting, twinkling fairy lights, delicate white paper lanterns, pristine white florals, and gentle candlelight.
The entire space felt ethereal, creating the perfect backdrop for the heartfelt performances that followed. Ruhi, glowing with elegance, and Kartik, effortlessly charming, delivered a sweet and memorable dance. The Wedding
Despite unprecedented winds, high tides, and immense pressure during setup, the team persevered with determination, prayers, and unwavering passion. And nature ultimately blessed the celebration. Just before the ceremony, the weather transformed into something magical: clear skies, soft light, and a backdrop so breathtaking it felt heaven-sent. As guests from around the world gathered, Ruhi’s Sikh grandmother recited the Guru Nanak paath, Kartik’s parents offered Hindu prayers, and Ruhi’s parents gave their heartfelt duas. Together, these blessings created a harmonious blend of cultures, marking the beginning of a deeply spiritual and unforgettable union.
As the sun descended, painting the sky in hues of blush and gold, the beach transformed into a dreamscape. Ruhi walked down a white-framed aisle, escorted by her brother, Zamir, and her father, Riaz, beneath arches draped in sheer white fabrics and cascading greenery. The Reception
Ruhi and Kartik’s wedding reception unfolded like a scene from a modern fairytale—an ethereal celebration set against the whispering waves and the gentle post-storm breeze. Guests entered through a sparkling walkway lined with hundreds of crystals, glass vases, glowing lamps, candles, and delicate florals in blush pink, soft peach, and touches of gold. Overhead, a lush canopy of cascading greenery and flowers framed a cluster of chandeliers adorned with icy white and green accents—an elegant nod to December. Victorian blush-pink chairs, hand-embroidered organza linens, and gold candelabras overflowing with blooms transformed the space into a luxurious, romantic haven befitting the finale of a seven-year love story.
As the evening unfolded, Ruhi and Kartik stepped onto a cloud-like dance floor where ground fog, cold pyros, and their favorite song created a dreamlike first dance moment.
