Go Soft Where it Matters: Your Knees and Elbows!
What’s one of the worst beauty faux pas you can have on the big day? It’s having scruffy dry elbows that are uneasy to touch. But hopefully, you won’t be making that mistake. It’s easy as one, two, three…
1. Exfoliate. This is a simple, and easy yet vital part of your beauty routine! During you everyday shower, rub the rough and flaking skin with an exfoliating sponge or glove. Keep in mind that as exfoliating is good and rather essential for your skin, over-exfoliating in a rough manner can give you the opposite effect of what you’re looking for.
2. Moisturize. After you finish exfoliating in your shower, you need to make sure you moisturize. With your moisturizing cream of choice, massage your elbows and knees for a minute or two. Hand and feet creams are oilier than body lotions; this makes them a good option for softening elbows. Be sure to condition your elbows once, twice or even three times a day.
3. The simplicity of a lemon. A tradition is a tradition for a reason; it’s worked for generations! Cut a lemon in half and rub the cut surface on your elbows. Try doing this twice a week and you’ll feel a difference. You can also sit for a while with your elbows pushed into the lemon halves. The citric acid in the lemon acts as a natural exfoliant and helps to lighten discoloured skin.
