We had the chance to ask Wafic Saab a few questions for the grooms-to-be and here is what he had to say:
- What is the preparation process for the groom’s hair and beard?
There are many things to take into consideration when it comes to preparing the groom’s look before the wedding.
It is preferred that the groom starts working on his look 2 weeks prior to the wedding, such as drinking lots of water and liquids, sleeping well, and not staying up late.
It is also advised not to apply any beauty products or shave the beard during these 2 weeks.
- What are the most common mistakes grooms make when it comes to their hair before the wedding?
The most important mistake done by grooms is that the groom goes to a hairdresser who does not have a clear idea of what the groom wants, or the style that suits him.
Also, many grooms cut their hair before the wedding at one hair salon, but have their hair styled at another salon on the wedding day, which is not recommended.
- What is the etiquette when it comes to the groom’s hairstyle?
This night is a night of a lifetime, and it will not come back again, so every groom wants to look perfect.
It is better to keep the hairstyle simple and classic, if the groom wants a more modern look, then adding a modern touch to the timeless hair cut is acceptable.
- What do you think of men’s increased interest in hair and skin care?
Men’s interest in hair and skin care has definitely increased over the past decade, which made international companies become more aware of men’s beauty needs and are creating the products to suit men’s beauty needs.
It is better to keep the hairstyle simple and classic, if the groom wants a more modern look, then adding a modern touch to the timeless hair cut is acceptable
- What is the latest trend for men’s hairstyles?
The latest trend that has been going strong for the past 5 years, is having the hair cut or shaved off from the sides while keeping it thicker in the middle and front.
Some men like to add a bold touch by shaving two lines from the side.
But, this trend is expected to end by the end of 2016.
- What are the latest techniques used in skin and hair care?
At the Wafic Saab Salon in Dubai, we have 3 main machines used for the first time in the Middle East for hair care and scalp, they are Rollerball, Micromist, and Spamist.
As for skin care, we have a new product called Face Gem, which is only available at our salon. This product sends sound waves in the skin to fight wrinkles.
- What are the programs and shows you participated in?
Before joining the MBC group, we used to work with many important organisations such as Future TV and the famous show Super Star since 2002 until the 5th season.
We also collaborated with X Factor, Arab Idol, and The Voice, and we are currently working with ET Arabi, and working on the looks of Basem Alzaro.
- Who are the most famous male figures you worked with?
We worked on the looks of many male celebrities, such as Kathem Al Saher, Hussein Al Jasmi, Ragheb Alama, Saber Al Robai, Wael Kfoury, Hussein Al Shafei, Assi Al Helani, Melhem Zein, Alaa Zalzali, Ayman Zbeeb, and Nader Al Atat, and many more.
Hussein Al Jasmi’s latest hairstyle for his Pepsi commercial was done by us, as well as Hasan Al Shafei’s look for his latest music video.
- What are your future plans?
I am currently thinking of having a new salon in Dubai, and making it one of the most important places for beauty and elegance. Going to the salon should be a complete experience from beauty care and relaxation for men. Once we accomplish this goal we will then spread our work to the rest of the Middle East and the world.
