Confessions of Real Bride: Maram Samawi

Confessions of Real Bride: Maram Samawi

Maram Samawi and Hanna Khoury met at high school in Amman, Jordan and fell in love.

The couple got engaged on July 17, 2012 and got married in the Syriac Hall (a hall used by the Syriac Christian community) in Amman, Jordan, on June 19, 2013.

Here is what Maram had to say:

  • Did you hire a wedding planner or planned the wedding yourself?

We took care of all the details. We didn’t hire a wedding planner as we used to get a lot of information from Arabia Weddings, which helped us a lot.

  • What is the biggest advice you can give any bride or groom-to-be?
  1. Look for something special to have on your wedding; don’t be traditional. Your guests will have more fun and feel more included.
  2. Enjoy planning your wedding, although it can by hard and exhausting, but these days will not come back.
  3. Enjoy your wedding day, don’t worry or bother about the small details, there is no wedding without surprises, so you’d better enjoy it.

  • What was the theme or color scheme you picked for your wedding?

We chose bright summery colors such as light green.

  • Do you recommend specific suppliers you worked with?

Oscar group were amazing on our wedding day, they included me and Hanna as well as the rest of the family in the performances.
I also recommend Tarek Salon and Ramzi for makeup (Dabouq Branch).
I got my dress from Cache in Swefieh, Amman which I also recommend, as they have a great selection of beautiful dresses.

  • What was the most difficult and stressful part of wedding planning?

Two days before the wedding I started to countdown, and began to worry about everything being done on time.

  • Did you face any surprises? If so how did you deal with them?

Yes, many! But we managed to control them. For example, before the wedding in 5 minutes they told us that one of the fountain fireworks was set on fire, but they fixed it and got us a new one.

We also timed the slider of our pictures to take 4 minutes only, but it took much longer than we expected!

"Arabia Weddings helped me out a lot, I used to read all the articles, which helped me make many decisions"

  • Do you consider yourself as a relaxed bride/groom or more of a bridezilla?

I was actually very relaxed.

  • Describe your wedding day and the planning process.

The planning process was exhausting and took forever to get it done but the wedding itself was beautiful.

  • Did Arabia Weddings help you in your wedding planning?

Yes a lot, I used to read all the articles, which helped me make many decisions.
