A Chit Chat with Arabia Weddings: Alanoud Alhajri
Saudi fashion designer Alanoud Alhajri was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, and graduated from AOU (Arab Open University) in Kuwait with a Business Administration degree.
Alanoud Alhajri is currently living in Kuwait, and working on her fashion brand “Alanoud” which was launched in 2011.
The brand is all about bringing balance between modernity and traditional designs.
We had a chance to ask Alanoud Alhajri a few questions and here is what she had to say:
- Tell us more about your start, how did you get into the fashion design business?
I've loved designing my own clothes since I was a kid. My mother was a professional tailor; she would make all kinds of dresses for me and my sisters. She was my main source of inspiration.
I have always designed dresses and kaftans for myself. So my family and friends pushed me to create a personal label and to start introducing my designed to the public. Finally in 2011 I was brave enough to do it.
"I adore fishtail dresses and long veils"
- How do you best describe your designs?
I like to describe my designs as feminine, simple and elegant.
- What materials, fabrics and colors did you use in your latest collection?
My latest collection was all about royal black and pure white with a touch of gold. I believe these colors have a very special feel when worn.
- What are your latest favorite fashion trends?
The latest fashion trends I like are big bows, taffeta and puffy dresses.
"My mom was my source of inspiration"
- Any bridal trends that you personally like?
I adore fishtail dresses and long veils.
- Where can people buy your creations?
My brand will soon be available in most GCC countries. As soon as the new collection is ready I will announce at which stores it will be available.
