Tips for Your Dry Skin

Some people suffer from skin dryness all year round; dryness can sometimes lead to itchiness and can be very annoying.

Here are some tips to help you overcome this issue:

  1. Avoid washing your hands in hot water, keep it warm but not too hot. Also keep your showers short and quick: not more than 5-10 minutes.
  2. Avoid soaps with alcohol or strong scents and use cream gel washes instead. Make sure they contain Ceramides, which helps the skin lock in the moisture, Ceramides is found in the skin itself but tends to lessen as we age.
  3. After showering pat dry your skin instead of rubbing it.
  4. Apply moisturizing cream directly after it’s dry.
  5. Petroleum Jelly is great for the skin, it will help renew your skin cells and protect your skin.
  6. Use sunscreen with at least 30SPF in winter and summer, whether you are spending the day in the sun or not.
  7. Studies show that Omega 3 can help treat skin dryness; results will start showing after 6 weeks according to dermatologist Dr. Andrew Wale.
