Currently, Bali is positioning itself as the number 1 choice of millennial couples. What makes Bali special in terms of hosting weddings?
Through an interview DWP conducted with Mr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/ Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency of The Republic of Indonesia to know more about this stunning destination, here are the top reasons:
Bali is unique in terms of nature, culture, and people. Bali has a beautiful landscape, be it beaches that are treasured by world-class surfers with their beautiful sunsets, rice fields, mountains, tropical forests, waterfalls, or rivers. All outside venues and areas in Bali scream romance. Located near the equator, Bali has warm tropical weather all year around. If you dream about a tropical paradise, Bali is the one. More importantly, are the people. Bali has the friendliest people in the world, their smiles and warm greetings are the reason why people keep on coming back year after year.
As for the culture, it is heavily influenced by Hinduism. The world calls Bali "the Island of Gods" and many are interested in the religious activities and their philosophies. The culture, the aromatic scents, the sounds, and the foods, all combine to make Bali an exotic place that you won’t find anywhere else in the world. World Travel Awards has named Bali "Asia’s Most Romantic Destination." Bali also received an award as Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination 2021 by the same event.
According to the Minister, the 5 hotspots in Bali that he would recommend for international travelers are:
- Mesmerize by the Kecak dance performance during the sunset at Uluwatu
- Enjoying the beautiful landscape of rice fields in Tegal Alang
- Rafting on Ayung river and walking on Champuhan ridge walk in Ubud
- Diving at a world war shipwreck at Tulamben
- Immerse in the culture at Panglipuran Village
"It is such an honor to be part of the 8th annual DWP Congress and get an opportunity to introduce Bali as one of the best wedding destinations in the world. We are thrilled that top wedding planners will be able to put Bali on one of their lists of wedding destinations. We hope the Congress will bring a lot of business opportunities and contribute to the tourism sector in Bali and Indonesia," said the Minister, Mr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.
