The Studio

The talented team of photographers and videographers of The Studio have vast experience shooting weddings and pre-weddings of various cultures and religions. They will capture your day as it unfolds, highlighting emotion and personalities, while remaining discreet.

Here is what Laila Clarke, Geneal Manager of The Studio advises:

  • What is the single most important advice you would like to give to a bride on her wedding day?

It’s important for the bride and groom to discuss beforehand which shots they would like captured of their wedding and which moments they both feel are most important to them for the photographer to pay attention to.

  • What are the most essential wedding pictures that a bride & groom must not forget to take on their wedding day?

All are essential but we would say bridal portraits, to show off her dress and the effort she has put into her look, as well as photos with siblings and couple portraits to allow for some special moments alone.

  • What is the single most important advice you would like to give to a bride on her wedding day?

So much of your wedding day will pass by in a blur and the last thing you want to be doing is worrying about how you look on camera. Don’t overthink it. If you're always looking for the camera, it won't capture those magically candid moments of you sharing a look with your new spouse or laughing with your friends.

  • What are the most essential wedding pictures that a bride & groom must not forget to take on their wedding day?

A kiss after you both walk up the aisle with all your friends and family cheering you on is such a beautiful moment you don't want to rush!

  • What is the single most important advice you would like to give to a bride on her wedding day?

Get to know your suppliers! Check their portfolio thoroughly, ask to see a full wedding, ask about their processes, find out about their on and off the day contingency plans etc. Also, it doesn’t matter how much you like their work, what matters most is how much you like "them" and how good your bond is. For example, you should feel comfortable around your photographer, if you feel awkward or tense around them, it will definitely show in the photos – after all, they are the supplier that you will spend the most time with! Make sure you surround yourself with a team of suppliers who make you feel relaxed and worry free.

  • What are the most essential wedding pictures that a bride & groom must not forget to take on their wedding day?

Personally, every photo is "essential" for a wedding. The type of photos for me that should not be missed though are "moments" – these cannot be recreated. You can always recreate a portrait, but once a "moment" has passed, it’s gone forever! The smiles, the laughter, the tears, the joy – these are the type of photos that will allow you to relive your day for years to come!

Here's Maria's advice on these 2 questions:

  • What is the single most important advice you would like to give to a bride on her wedding day?

As photographers, we are of course concerned with capturing the day beautifully and from an angle that tells the true story of the day with all the emotions it entails. Having said that, we are also people, and for me, the key is for every wedding couple to have the best day ever. If that includes ensuring the bride vibes are on high, removing parts of the photo schedule or getting them water when they're thirsty, that's what our team will do! My personal advice for all brides is to forget about all the things that are going on around you, like the details, floral arrangements, venue set-up etc and just allow yourself to relax and enjoy all the parts of the day, with all the emotions this entails. After all, that's what it's about and if you have employed a great team around you, you can trust that the day will flow smoothly and your photography team will capture the best photos of you, being real in every way.

  • What are the most essential wedding pictures that a bride & groom must not forget to take on their wedding day?

In my experience it differs a little bit between couples, but most couples will ensure to have their couple photos captured and to have the moment when they say I do, captured in photos. I second that as I think this is what the wedding is about, the two of you. However, I have had couples that have not been so keen on family photos, but over time after the wedding, a family member has passed away and the family photos from the wedding were the last photos they took together. All of a sudden, the family photos were the most precious out of all the photos.

Going back to what most couples choose as essentials, who can resist couple photos taken at sunset, the most beautiful time of the day?!

Rima Hassan is an international wedding photographer with abundance of experience in weddings of all cultures. Her clients often call her the ‘unofficial bridesmaid’ because she is always there to the rescue to make sure everything is running smoothly and that everyone is having a fabulous time.

Following is Rima's advice to brides and grooms:

  • What is the single most important advice you would like to give to a bride on her wedding day?

Make a Timeline  and Stick to it! I assure that if a bride has a very well thoughtful timeline for everything (makeup, hair, first-look with the groom, photography & video, entrance, dinner, cake cutting, dance, exit, making payments, etc) and everything goes ON TIME, she will enjoy her wedding day the most.

  • What are the most essential wedding pictures that a bride & groom must not forget to take on their wedding day?

First Look! The expressions of the groom watching the bride in a white dress for the first time are always priceless and more or less the highlight of the night. It's best if they do the first look privately because men feel more comfortable to express their reactions and say compliments to the bride than in the ballroom where the music is loud and hundreds of eyes are on the couple.

  • What is the single most important advice you would like to give to a bride on her wedding day?

Try to stick to your time schedule to avoid rushing. Anyone that is part of the photo-shoot should be aware of the photography schedule to ensure that no one is late. Every minute counts.

Create a mood board with the photo styles that you like beforehand so your photographer knows what kind of photos you want. It’s always important that you and your photographer are on the same page.

  • What is the most essential wedding pictures that a bride & groom must not forget to take on their wedding day?

Couple shots are a must, but also family photos are equally important. Assign a close family or friend to be in charge of gathering all the family members/friends that are going to be part of the group photos. Draft a list that you can share with that person and the photographer to ensure that no one is missed.
