Jordan’s Crown Prince Al Hussein and Rajwa Al Saif's wedding took place on 1st of Junr 2023.

The official news came in on 31 December 2022 by the official Royal Hashemite Court’s Instagram page with a caption sharing details, "The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that the wedding of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Miss Rajwa Khalid Alseif will take place on June 1, 2023. The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this occasion and wishes His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Miss Rajwa Khalid Alseif a lifetime of happiness #Jordan."

The engagement, meanwhile, was announced in August last year, with the proposal taking place at the home of Rajwa's father in Riyadh, where members of both families were in attendance. 

The wedding on Thursday 1st June 2023, followed traditional Jordanian customs and took place at Zahran Palace, a historic palace located in Jabal Amman, Jordan. 

The wedding ceremony was held at Zahran Palace (between the 3rd and 4th Circles), then the wedding procession moved to Al Husseiniya Palace (Dabouq).

The couple welcomed several international royal guests and dignitaries including Princess Hisakoa and Princess Tsuguko of Japan and Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

After guests like Prince William and Kate Middleton found their seats and Crown Prince Hussein processed to the front of the gazebo, Princess Rajwa arrived with her groom’s younger siblings. The bride entered the wedding on the arm of her new brother-in-law Prince Hashem, 18.

The couple was joyful when Dr. Ahmed Al Khalaileh, imam of the Royal Hashemite Court, closed the service and sweetly kissed each other on the cheek. Some of the women performed a Zaghrata, a traditional ululation to show happiness at Jordanian and Arab celebrations.

After the official marriage ceremony (Katb Ktab) Rajwa was given the title of Princess and her name will change to "Princess Rajwa Al Hussein".

The newlyweds took part in a procession in an open-top car following the ceremony. The couple then went to Al Husseiniya Palace where the wedding celebrations and reception took place. There were around 1,700 guests invited to the reception at Al Husseiniya Palace.

The Royal Wedding Invitation

The wedding invitation was shared on different social media platforms, the photos showed the official invitation from Jordan's King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, to attend the wedding ceremony at Al Husseiniya Palace in the heart of the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Where the Royal Court attached the clip to a comment that read: "We are pleased to share with you the official slogan on the occasion of the marriage of Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince, to Ms. Rajwa Khaled Al Saif." And the hashtag "# We rejoice in Al-Hussein" was added.

And the invitation card bore verse 21 of Surat Al-Rum. The invitation also included the emblem of the Hashemite Royal Crown, under which were written the names of Hussein and Rajwa.

King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, sent an invitation card to a number of dignitaries and notables of Jordanians to attend a dinner, which is to be held prior to the royal wedding. Jordanian media reported the invitation card, and according to what was stated in it, "The banquet will be held on Monday evening, May 22, 2023, in the Bani Hashem rackets."

Among the conditions included in the invitation to attend the dinner were wearing national or traditional dress and not bringing a cell phone.

Arab stars dedicated some beautiful songs on the occasion of the marriage of Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Rajwa Al Saif taking place on Thursday, June 1, 2023, Jordanian and Arab stars expressed their happiness by releasing a collection of songs to mark this joyous occasion.

Singers such as Ragheb Alama, Melhem Zein, and Walid Tawfiq all shared their latest songs celebrating the Royal Jordanian wedding.

King Abdullah’s Dinner Banquet

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday held a dinner banquet at the Bani Hashem rackets, at the Royal Hashemite Court, for guests from across the Kingdom, on the occasion of HRH Crown Prince Hussein’s wedding.

King Abdullah welcomed the guests to the dinner banquet, attended by HRH Prince Hassan and Royal family members, saying that Madareb Bani Hashem are the home of all Jordanians and thanking them for sharing in the joy.

During the event, which hosted more than 4,000 men, His Majesty presented the Crown Prince with an exact replica of a historic sword from the Bani Hashem tribe, from whom the Hashemite family descends.

Jordan’s most famous dish, mansaf, which was recently inscribed into UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list, was served in line with local customs.

The event celebrated Jordan’s rich heritage and diverse culture, as well as the traditions of the Royal Hashemite Family.

The banquet featured a number of musical and cultural performances inspired by Jordan’s rich cultural heritage, beginning with a performance by the Silent Infantry, a recitation of Nabataean poetry and a musical oud performance.

Crown Prince Hussein donned an outfit inspired by his classical Arab heritage, a point of pride for all Jordanians. His attire consisted of the red-and-white checkered Jordanian headdress, known as the Shemagh, as well as the Jordanian Thoub topped with a Nassiya or Jubbah overcoat. The Crown Prince also wore a dark-coloured woolen Abayah featuring golden brocaded details, as well as a leather pistol belt bearing golden embroidery.

The Shemagh the Crown Prince wore during the Madareb Bani Hashem event was gifted to him by Tarfa Obeidat, an 83-year-old woman, who hemmed the headdress herself and recently presented it to His Royal Highness as a wedding gift.

Queen Rania's First Look

Queen Rania was seen greeting guests alongside her husband, King Abdullah, dressed in an elegant black number by Christian Dior.

Her dress, which featured a simple high neckline and long sleeves, came with what seems to be intricate beadwork in shades of gold and beige along the neck, sleeves, and down the back, and was first seen at the fashion house’s Fall 2022 showcase.

The queen's outfit was completed with a coordinated clutch bag and golden accessories. She wore her hair in an elegant updo. Natural makeup with a hint of blush, bold brows, and a creamy pink lip color added the final touches.

Queen Rania's Second Look

For the wedding reception, Queen Rania chose to wear a creation from Lebanese designer Elie Saab’s SS23 couture collection.

The silhouette of this beige dress had a heavily embellished fitted bodice featuring embroidery, appliqué, and passementeries that carried along the edges of the skirt and floor trailing cape.

Queen Rania completed her look with a burgundy sash and a brooch in the shape of a crown, and a breathtaking tiara.

The Bride Rajwa Al Hussein's Second Look

For the celebration, the bride made her second public appearance for the day with a look that instantly drew everyone’s attention in a Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda gown!

The dress had an elaborate silhouette and intricate embroidery in the shape of large swirls. The cap-sleeved gown also came with a deeper neckline and was styled with elbow-length gloves.

The future Queen of Jordan chose to have her hair pinned up but accessorized with the same jewelry from the wedding ceremony.

Princess Iman radiated elegance and grace in a stunning custom Ashi Studio Couture Gown.

The flowing silhouette beautifully embraced her figure, while the details of the gown were kept simple and minimal.

Princess Iman carried a beautiful  Sarah's Bag Arabesque Box Clutch, a piece previously worn by Queen Rania. The clutch, adorned with intricate Arabesque motifs, complemented the princess's gown flawlessly. 

Princess Iman's choice of footwear, the Jennifer Chamandi 'Vittorio' Brown Leather Pumps, added a touch of modern sophistication to her ensemble.

The Bride Princess Rajwa Al Hussein's First Look

Princess Rajwa Al Hussein wore a beautiful and elegant wedding dress designed by Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab.

The dress had a body-hugging cut and an elegantly sculpted asymmetrical neckline without any embellishments. Along with the full-sleeved gown came a detachable train with floral detailing that added volume and drama to her wedding look.

The bride completed her look with a beautiful tiara designed by Yan Sicard from Fred Jewelry engraved with the phrase "Hope from God" (Rajwatun min Allah) a phrase Queen Rania used in her speech at Princess Rajwa's henna party using her name Rajwa meaning "Hope".

Another unique detail in Princess Rajwa's look is that the elegant bride kept everything simple including her bridal shoes, as she chose to wear simple white flats by Aquazzura while walking down the aisle to her groom.

For her second look Princess Iman chose a more glamorous dress, the Princess chose to wear a sparkling pink dress from the renowned fashion house Giambattista Valli.

The gown featured delicate fabric cascading around her, Princess Iman wore the magnificent tiara she wore at her wedding.

Princess Salma's First Look

Princess Salma was radiating in youthful charm and elegance, she donned a stunning aqua-blue draped maxi dress from the renowned designer Stella Mccartney.

The flowing silhouette of the dress gracefully enveloped her figure, creating a sense of ethereal beauty the intricate draping of the fabric added a touch of modernity and sophistication to her ensemble while maintaining an air of effortless grace.

The Red Motorcade

The parade to the reception, known as the Red Motorcade, also incorporated eight bright red armed Land Rover vehicles and 11 motorcycles. The Red Motorcade has its roots in the era of King Abdullah, who would arrive at significant national events atop one a procession of white horses accompanied by riders dressed in dark blue trousers and red blazers.

The Prince and Princess traveled in a 1984 Range Rover that was customized for the visit of the late Queen Elizabeth to Jordan.
