Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 at New York Fashion Week

Peter Copping, Oscar de la Renta's successor picked up where Oscar has started, and just like Oscar de la Renta, Peter has an eye for color.

"They used to throw red carnations into the ring after a bullfight", Peter said. Which explains the presence of carnation prints in various sizes that Peter Copping scattered on dresses.

Behind Peter's inspiration was the discovery that Oscar de la Renta met Ava Gardner, whose lover was a bullfighter, in the 1950s. 

Peter Copping paid homage throughout the entire collection to the label's namesake while also putting forth his own vision.

The collection featured a range of dresses, pencil skirts, and lace tops.
