On 22 and 23 November 2021 Siena will be the capital of the wedding industry thanks to a B2B event that will bring experts and big names in the sector to the Tuscan city. The Wedding Industry Meeting 2021 (WIM 2021), dedicated to buyers and suppliers operating in the wedding industry, is scheduled to take place at the Santa Maria della Scala with two days of strategic, educational and in-depth events: B2B appointments between wedding planners and industry professionals and educational conferences on market changes. Over 60 buyers and more than 30 sellers will participate.
During the meetings, national and international wedding planners will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with highly specialised operators in Tuscany, such as flower designers, caterers, photographers, videomakers, communication experts, service providers and hotels. The panel discussions, on the other hand, will be a moment of interaction and training during which experts, journalists or bloggers will present their analysis of the market trend, with moments of comparison on the novelties and curiosities of the sector.
Conceived by Tommaso Corsini, founder and CEO of Corsini.Events Group, the event aims to bring together the fragmented market of private events and weddings into a single collector and to propose common communication strategies to make Tuscany the leading territory in the national and international wedding market. The initiative is organized under the patronage of the Region of Tuscany, the Municipality of Siena and the Municipality of Florence, with the support of Terre di Siena Convention Bureau. Tuscany for Weddings, the wedding division of Destination Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau, set up in 2015 and operating on behalf of Toscana Promozione Turistica since 2021, is the event's host destination partner.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony of WIM 2021, on 22 November, is scheduled at 10.00 a.m. with the institutional opening greetings. At 11.00 a.m. B2B meetings will start, which will continue throughout the day. The following day, 23 November, the first panel will start at 10.00 a.m. and will be dedicated to "Communication during the covid and in the post covid relaunch, with an in-depth look at digital communication, and the trends of how destinations and Tuscany are moving in the choice of newlyweds" and will see the participation of wedding media and wedding bloggers. At 11.30 am it will be the turn of the "Market Figures" panel with the presentation of the Digital Dashboard by Sinerbit.
In the afternoon, there will be the event "Restart at national level in the wedding industry - what are they doing in the post-pandemic period, what are they aiming for, future projects" with the trade associations: Federcongressi, Federmep, Assoeventi, Anbc. At 3.30 p.m. the fourth panel "Restarting the Wedding sector in Tuscany" is scheduled, to take stock of the situation with professionals from the sector and entrepreneurs from the Hotellerie: Carolina Santarelli, Managing Director & Founder of Affresco, Anna Frascisco, CEO & Founder of Frascisco Luxury Events, Urbano Brini, Co-Founder of FlorenceTown, Gabriele Olla, Area Senior Sales Manager Italy & Spain of the Belmond Group, Silvia Bonetti, General Manager of Castello di Banfi. The event will close at 5.00 p.m. with the last panel entitled "How the new hotel chains are coping with the growing importance of the Wedding world at national level" with Federalberghi Toscana President Daniele Barbetti, Una Group General Manager Fabrizio Gaggio, Antonio Ducceschi, Chief Commercial Officer of Starhotels and Maria Carmela Colaiacovo, President of Confindustria Alberghi.
“Finally, after 19 months, professionals from one of the markets most damaged by the pandemic are meeting again, and this is already an exceptional result," comments Tommaso Corsini, Founder and General Manager of Corsini.Events Group. "For two days, more than 150 Tuscan companies will be able to discuss how to restart an industry that is worth hundreds of millions of euros in our region. Locations, organisers, wedding planners and all types of service companies will be able to discuss, as guests of the Municipality of Siena, the various most important themes of the market, at the gates of what could not only be the year of the restart, but of a rebound in demand that could reaffirm the centrality of Tuscany in this segment on a national and international level. Thanks to the Municipality of Siena for its hospitality and all the sponsors for their commitment and passion in planning the event. We are certain that occasions like this can be fundamental for the rebirth of this sector for our territory. Moreover, the importance and centrality that Convention Bureaus have assumed in the activities of promotion, marketing and organisation of the offer is decisive, and once again Tuscany is an example among all destinations.
As CEO of Corsini.Events group, the company that produces the event, I am proud to have been able to take part in all this". “Tuscany once again proves to be a leading region in the restart of the wedding industry," points out Carlotta Ferrari, director of the Destination Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau, "not only for its unrivalled offer of iconic locations, recognised all over the world, and for the professionalism of its operators, but also and above all for the speed and determination with which it has reacted to the stop imposed by the pandemic. Proof of this is the participation of national and international buyers and sellers at WIM, which was truly above expectations. At such a delicate time, it is essential to consolidate the network between operators in order to build a leading destination at international level, and it is for this objective that Tuscany for Weddings has been working since 2015".
