From Beirut to Amman: A Musical Love Story

Set within the historic grandeur of Sursock Palace in Beirut, the wedding of Lebanese singer Mayssa Karaa and Jordanian music producer Yarub Smairat was nothing short of poetic. The iconic palace, with its faded aristocratic walls, high ceilings, and old-world charm, provided an evocative backdrop that blended heritage with romance. Long candlelit tables stretched through the space, dressed in mirrored surfaces, crystal glassware, soft blush florals, and elegant silver accents. The warm glow of hundreds of candles reflected off the glass and chandeliers, creating an atmosphere that felt intimate, cinematic, and timeless.
Mayssa was a vision of understated elegance in a bespoke gown by Saiid Kobeisy, perfectly complementing the refined setting.
Music, unsurprisingly, played a deeply personal role throughout the celebration. One of the most memorable moments of the evening unfolded as a surprise flash mob set to "La Traviata", filling the palace with emotion and theatrical flair. Adding to the magic, the couple’s closest circle became part of the performance; Mayssa’s father, sister, and cousins joined in, singing beautifully and turning the celebration into a heartfelt family concert that moved everyone present.
The most touching surprise, however, came from the groom himself. As Mayssa later shared, Yarub surprised her with the song "Men Beirut La Amman", a love letter in music, written with his best man Zaid and sung with profound soul.
Planned seamlessly by Livs Events Planning, the wedding was a masterclass in emotional storytelling, where music, setting, and personal moments came together in perfect harmony.
