Tina Knowles Lawson, Beyonce’s mother, may have designed many Destiny’s Child outfits, but her design for Beyonce’s wedding gown wasn’t as successful.
Tina Lawson said in a recent Today show interview that Queen Bey “wasn’t so excited about the dress at the time” of her 2008 wedding to Jay Z.
“She came back one day and she said, ‘you know, when my daughter gets married I’m gonna let her pick out her own dress,’” Lawson said.
“She was so sweet to let me do that,” Tina said of Beyonce letting her design her wedding gown.
