Chinese weddings have become a chance for citizens to show their wealth, but this lavish wedding is still managing to raise eyebrows on Weibo.
Pictures of a southern Chinese wedding are going viral on Chinese social media. The story started circulating after Bob Lam, a popular Hong Kong TV host, posted this photo of the bride with her jewelry. Lam was hired by the couple to host the wedding.
TV host Bob Lam took a picture with the bride with gold bracelets around her neck.
The bride's dowry was worth several million yuan.
The report did not disclose what the groom's family's source of income is, but just said the family runs its own business.
