John Reed Loflin, the boyfriend of Duck Dynasty star Rebecca Lo Robertson, popped the question on New Year's Eve.
According to Us Weekly, the reality star was strolling along a Florida beach with her sweetheart at sunset, when she spotted something very sparkly, hiding in the sand. "I was determined to find the best shell that day," she said of their adorable seashell-hunting expedition. "I saw this beautiful swirly shell hidden in the sand and the ring was also hiding in there! He got on his one knee as I pulled the ring out and he said, 'I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you spend the rest of your life with me?'" All we can say is, thank goodness she found that shell before the tide did!
The ring Robertson pulled out of that shell turned out to be an ultra-unique Art Deco-inspired piece that exchanged the traditional diamond for an oval opal stone. Her brand new fiancé actually helped design the ring alongside jewelry designer Lindsey Lewis and couldn't wait to present it to his bride-to-be, saying "I knew from the first moment I met her [that I'd propose]... I have been planning in my head to ask her for a long while now."
With a sparkler that special, Robertson of course needed to show it off with an out-of-the-ordinary engagement ring selfie! "After a long time of patiently searching, I found the ultimate gem," she wrote on Instagram, captioning a snapshot of a notebook full of proposal-themed doodles, alongside her new romantic rock, of course!
The bride-to-be's mom, Duck Dynasty's Korie Robertson, also got in on the social media celebrations, posting a photo of the over-the-moon couple and writing, "2016 is shaping up to be a fun one!"
