Tennis player and Bride-to-be Dominika Cibulkova might have to cancel her wedding after becoming a victim of her own success on the tennis court.
Dominika and her fiance Miso Navara planned to get married on Saturday, the day of the Wimbledon ladies singles final, they took a calculated gamble that she would no longer be in with a shot of winning the title.
But she beat Agnieszka Radwanska, a finalist in 2012, coming back from a set down and surviving a match point to win 6-3, 5-7, 9-7 in a marathon match lasting almost three hours to progress to the quarter finals.
Afterwards, Miss Cibulkova, 27, known as the ‘Pocket Rocket’, said: "We planned this wedding nine months ago. You never know what can happen."
"If I’m still here on Saturday that would be a dream coming true, so it will be good this way or the other."
She and Navara have been engaged for four years and are due to marry in her home city of Bratislava on July 9.
