An Emirati groom and bride on Saturday became the first couple to formalise their marriage contract ceremony using a new smart service that connects the futuristic Service 1 centre with a Dubai Courts official through video conference.
The ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Both the groom, Omar Sultan Al Olma, and bride, Amal Ahmad Bin Shabeeb, are members of Shaikh Mohammad’s work team.
In a video posted on his official twitter handle @HHShkMohd, Shaikh Mohammad can be seen seated near the groom on a sofa as a robot draws near to begin proceedings – held through video link – with a court official.
